Blood:
Red Suspension consists of two main constitutes solid and liquid.
The solid consists of three types of cells; red blood cells; white blood cells and platelets.

The liquid is called plasma consists of 92 to 96 % water ; 4 to 8% proteins, enzymes , hormones ; inorganic salts ( electrolytes )
2. Blood Components: means one of the main blood constitutes separated from other constitutes i.e., red cells; white cells; platelets or plasma only.
3. Blood Fractions: An expression used to indicate of one or more derivatives of the plasma proteins e.g. : Albumin ; gamma globulins ; clotable proteins as (FVIII; FIX--------)
· * Plasma Fractions or plasma derivatives has the same meaning.
4. Blood or Plasma Fractionation: The process by which we can separate the therapeutical plasma proteins from each other, using physical , chemical or physo - chemical methods at certain PH and ionic concentration .

Fresh Frozen Plasma: The plasma either separated from whole blood (recovered) or collected by a phrases system is rapidly frozen to – 30 ºC during 6 hrs from collection.
